Bio

My interest in my family history began with my grandmother. She was always telling stories about our ancestors. Some were saints, a few were rascals. I wanted to know more about those who came before me. On occasions of being at a cemetery where Granny's family were lying in rest, we would walk through the rows of tombstones, each one inscribed with names and dates. I was amazed that she had a story to tell about each one and realized that I was kin to them, that they were my family too. I felt this indestructible sense of belonging and wanted to know more about our family history. I have been researching for quite a few years and am my family's historian. I wanted to preserve the family story through the written word in some way that honours my grandmother. It is a challenge to gather and document factual information. Research can be difficult and time consuming, as well as rewarding. That's why I post to this forum, with many posts as random acts of kindness. I have chosen to be anonymous because it is wise net etiquette.
