Bio

My wife Linda and I were both born in Berea, were raised and have deep roots in Rockcastle County, KY where we currently live. Most of my ancestors are buried within 10 miles of my home including GGGGG Maternal Grandparents and GGGGG Paternal Grandparents which makes it not only easy but very exciting.

I have enjoyed researching my genealogy as a hobby for nearly 30 years and took over where my mother Ruby had been researching our family for almost 20 years before me. She and my father spent a lot of time inventorying and recording cemeteries, which are included in the Rockcastle Cemetery Book of '86. To continue their legacy I enjoy, as I like to call it, " filling in the blanks of time", and sometimes feel as though they are right there with me as I take photos and record memorials. I am very proud of my military heritage, my research has discovered 7 Revolutionary War Soldiers/Patriots ancestors and my family tree honors Veterans from every American war since. One of my greatest finds is that Cherokee Chief Red Bird Totsuwha, aka Aaron Brock is both mine and my wife Linda's, ancestral Great-x7 Grandfather.

I am a retired Veteran myself, so my veterans not only hold a special place in my heart but a special interest as well. My interest in genealogy and my veteran ancestor's legacy have given me the honor and opportunity to participate in both the "Sons of the American Revolution" and the "Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War" activities.

My direct Adams linage is through my father William J (Chub) Adams son of, Loyal Harrison Adams son of, Joseph Fry Adams son of, William Harve Adams. My father's Rockcastle ancestors include Eads, Newcum, Smith, Houk, Hayes, Farris and Hudnall. My mother's Rockcastle ancestors include Thompson, Brown, Southern, Siler, and Brock. Linda's Rockcastle Ancestors are Brummett, Blanton, Bishop, Burke, Hacker, House, Holcomb and Young.

I will be glad to take grave photo's for anyone needing them in my area. If you feel a photo I've taken is unsatisfactory, let me know and I will retake it. The weather and time of day do make a big difference. Also I'll be happy to transfer an unrelated memorial to you. I've experienced problems with transfers and understand how frustrating the process can be and hope you don't ever have to go through it.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. And thanks to all of you that have assisted my efforts along the way, especially to all of you findagrave contributors.

Happy Trails... Happy Hunting... and God Bless You All.
