Bio

I am a descendant of the Revolutionary Soldier Joseph Gillispie/Gillespie/Galspy and Anna Geary of Orange County, NY. He was 10 years old serving in the Drum and Fife Core for the NY Infantry. He received 600 acres of land for his services which he settled on with his wife and family in Tompkins County, NY. When the War of 1812 broke out he joined the military again and died at Queenstown, Canada/Lewiston, NY in 1814. His widow remarried Joseph Hyatt/Haight and moved heading westward. They stopped briefly in Crawford County, PA where there was work (railroads were being built on the Ohio/PA boarder) before the headed toward Michigan.

I got started doing genealogy shortly after starting a family and have been collecting family data for 30 years. Recently joined the Find a Grave Community and love finding, extending as well as correcting family data.
