I have been involved with my family's history and stories since 1999, when we first traveled to Norway with the Valdres Samband.
In 2001 my research into my wife's ancestors started, along with trying to locate the families of my uncle's B-24 crew, using Find a Grave and Ancestry.
My uncle, Wayne Nelson died during WWII along with nine other members of the crew. In 2002 I met the soul survivor of the B-24 crash and in 2015 our book about the crew's lives and the Czech villagers' memorials dedicated to their sacrifice for "the freedom of others" was published.
