Bio

I graduated from Union-Whitten High School in Union, Iowa, Class of 1968, and still live in central Iowa. Some people knit, some people paint, I do Find-A-Grave.

If you would like a transfer of a memorial please let me know why you are making the request. I am more lenient than the FAG guidelines, but I want to be sure the deceased is important to you. In many cases I have spent a lot of time researching and linking family members together. I will usually be happy to transfer to a friend of the deceased.

If something doesn't seem to be correct please help me correct it ~ but please be nice! It takes all the fun out of this when people are mean or condescending. If it happens, you will go on a list and I will no longer help you. I have noticed that people who make snarky comments have their email addresses removed from their profile so you cannot respond to them. Proof that it's not a one-time offense! Note to Pam #47202912 on 20 March 2023 ~ Rudeness will be ignored!

If you are going to be a contributor, follow through with the memorials that you create. When you create a memorial for someone, you accept the responsibility to do the best that you can to memorialize that person. I have found several contributors who post limited information about a death, then move on and do not add information that was available in the obituary.

If you are going to be a contributor, please check your edits tab often.

Obituaries need to endure forever. Many obituaries are extremely poorly written and confusing, often due to incorrect punctuation. If you add an obituary, please do what you can to clarify and correct problems that you can identify.

Please do not create memorials for people who are living. From the FAG guidelines: "The site does not encourage adding memorials for individuals who are still living." If there is a memorial that was created prematurely, I will not delete a memorial that I created after the person died.

This is a great site ~ Enjoy!
