Bio

My name is Sheila (Edmonds) Saad. I search for my ancestry connections almost daily. I live in the Youngstown Ohio area and came to this web site for assistance in searching for my roots.

I just started as a volunteer for photo requests and, as a result, have also created several non-related memorials. I will be happy to transfer memorials as long as they are not part of my family tree or my husband's family tree. (I don't have a great deal of time to devote to the photo request part, as I have a full time career, but will do what I can when time allows!)

I am looking for information about any Edmonds relatives (originally from England) who lived in Clarion, Leechburg, New Bethlehem, Alcola, Bethlehem, Nazareth, and Erie, PA as well as Delaware, California and Arizona. And I am currently trying to find the parents who gave birth to my Great-grandmother, Mary Margaret O’Brien (she was given to a physician to raise who listed her as a servant). And to figure out which of 3 Dormady/Darmody families from Wayne County, NY belong to my great-grandfather....Mary Margaret’s husband.

In addition to this, I am looking for Hartzell ancestors. Albert Earl Hartzell is the biological father of my grandfather, Albert Earl Edmonds.

Branches who married into the family are Hilliard (Hillyard or Hilgert) and Lever(s), as well as the surnames of Kifer, Flick, Wegley, Mauny, Mohney, and Faust....from Great Britain, and Germany, and a host of others.

My immediate family moved from PA to Ohio in the early 1940s and immediate relatives are buried in Lake Park Cemetery in Mahoning County.

I am also looking for Draghita and Muntean information from Romania. (My grandparents emigrated from Romania between 1910-1929.) My grandfather, Zafiu Draghita (who also went by Jack and Sam), was married to someone here and was then divorced before bringing my grandmother Ana Muntean to Youngstown from Romania, so I am looking for information on his first wife as well. My immediate relatives are also buried in Lake Park Cemetery. Other affiliated Romanian ancestors are Burnet and Marginean.

Additionally, I am searching for my husband's paternal Saad ancestors who are originally from Mount Lebanon, Syria. His immediate family members are buried in Mahoning and Columbiana Counties in Ohio. However, he has earlier generation family members who were in New York, California, New Jersey, and who knows where else!

His maternal ancestors' last names were Verch, Maag, Palmer and Paeschke originally from Germany, and many are buried in Hubbard Union Cemetery in Trumbull County and in Lake Park Cemetery in Mahoning County, Ohio.

I already have the relatives from the immediate area, but am searching beyond them.
