I was born in Georgetown, SC Oct. 12, 1939, son of William Henry Jayroe and Annie Mae Cooper Jayroe. I graduated from Winyah High School in Georgetown in 1958, Wofford College in 1962, The Divinity School, Duke University in 1965, and the University of South Carolina, M. Ed. In 1969 and PH. D. In 1988. My career experiences include 2 years as a Methodist Minister, 6 years as a vocational rehabilitation counselor and supervisor, 4 years as a training and development coordinator in state government, and 25 years as a public educator in the fields of learning disabilities and social studies. I have a strong interest in history and ancestral research.
