I was born in Dade county, GA, just across the line from Bryant, AL where I was raised and lived until 1982. I attended Bryant Jr. High, North sand Mountain HIgh and Northeast Alabama community college. I have lived all of my life in Jackson county, AL. My maternal family line Is Bryant, /Boatner,, Baker, /Gill. My paternal family line is Evers/Lightsey, Golden/Seabolt.

My brother died in 2013. He was a truck driver and on a run in Ohio when he died. His obit appeared at the funeral home that was arranging his transport home to be buried. One of those who troll funeral homes to grab up new obits to add to their "collection" of managed memorials made a memorial page for my brother. There was a delay in transport as bro had to be transported through 4 states . So, after the day of his funeral i went to make a memrorial page for my brother to find it had already been done. Not just done, but done with incorrect information. I requested a transfer and was told by the person who created the page that she had no "proof" i was who i said i was even though my name was in the obit she had copied from the funeral home. I had been a member of FAG for almost 4 years so i had not just made a page to "steal" my brother's memorial. When that didn't fly, she informed me my brother had a son and WIFE who might want the memorial and had more right to it than i did so she would just hold on to it in case they requested transfer. Well....yes. My brother did have one son with who i was in contact with. But...bro was not married. He was divorced. My newphew had no problem with me having this memorial. The only person who had a problem with it was the troll who had grabbed up the obit from the funeral home and made the memorial while i was grieving the death of my brother.
So...having said all that, I am glad for the changes FAG has made so that can't be done any longer. But I also want to remind anyone who is reading this that family is family. Do the transfers without the familiy having to go to administrators of this site to have the memorial taken from you and transferred to a family member.
