Bio

I became the family historian by default in 2004. My cousin's daughter asked about our grandmother Prudence Summerville Cookinham, and I learned that my cousin never talked about our grandmother (she passed a couple years before his daughter was born). What I thought would be a simple genealogy chart turned into an 8 year research project ... and I've loved every minute of it. My research has focused on the Scots-Irish lineage of David Elder and Margery Stewart; 2 of their daughters married 2 brothers named Young and both of those lines eventually joined when David William Summerville married Elizabeth Minnick Kirk. I've also focused on the lineage of Charles Henry Cookinham, tracing his ancestors back to Johann Kuckenheim from Baden-Durlach, Germany. My contributions also include memorials for my late husband, Ed Bouffard, and his parents Joseph A. and Josephine M. Bouffard.
