Bio

I'm a fulltime genealogist, specialising in the people of Trentino, in northern Italy. I was born and raised in New York, but have lived in England since 1999. Trentino, where my father came from, used to be part of Austria, but became part of Italy in 1918. Many descendants of immigrants from the late 19th and early 20th century refer to this area as "Tyrol", although that term does not refer to Trentino in present-day Europe. I love helping clients discover their roots and family history from this wonderful part of the world. I have created hundreds of family trees for clients whose ancestors came from all parts of the province of Trento and other parts of northern Italy. I do my research both in Trento, and at my home, where I have amassed a substantial library of local history books from Trentino, as well as many thousands of digitised parish records. Italian is my second language, and I am constantly translating records, articles and parts of books in my daily work. Aside from my work for clients, I have been working obsessively for many years researching my dad's ancestry back to the late 1300s, and have also been entering all the records from his parish of Santa Croce del Bleggio onto one big tree. My mother's ancestry is Irish, and her grandparents on both sides came to New York in the 1880s. Researching my Irish family has been more difficult, but Find-A-Grave has been amazing at helping me piece together many long-lost relatives. I am extremely grateful to all the volunteers. Bless you and thank you for all you do. P.S.: I live in Bedford, England. If anyone happens to be looking for family in Bedford and you know where the grave is located, feel free to reach out and I'll try to get you a photograph.
