Bio

I'm here to search for, organize, and look after the memorials of my ancestors and their immediate and extended families. I also dabble in some one-name studies (a few listed below) for certain surnames of families that may or may not be connected to my own lines. In Nov 2022, after 11 years of relatively intense research, I finally figured out the (community) origin of all of my immigrant ancestors; I say this excluding my lone colonial line through my 2x great grandfather James William Clyde 1877-1952...

I do my best to post well-sourced, detailed memorials. The bulk of my efforts on here, however, is aimed at requesting edits to add info and establish family connections (8676* edits accepted to date and counting!). A big THANK YOU to everyone who accepts these requests!

If you have more accurate info for a memorial I've posted, don't hesitate to inform me, and please provide sources. I spend an inordinate amount of time on FamilySearch building and sourcing trees, so head there first to investigate my claims. I usually answer additional inquiries in a timely manner.

SELECT CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS (researching since Oct 2011):

- determining relations and discovering origins through DNA matches (majority of research since 2016 spent on this)
- the DEVINE families of County Tyrone buried in Cathedral Cemetery
- ACKERLEY (AKERLY, ACKERLY, AKERLEY) in Lower Hudson Valley, NY state, pre-1850
- family of Thomas MORRELL (1762-1823), co-founder of Grand Street Ferry (Brooklyn-Williamsburg), a supposed ancestor
- families in counties Leitrim and Sligo: McGOLDRICK, FEELEY, KIMMET, KELLY, HART, KILRANE, CLARK, FOLEY (and of all spelling variations)
