Bio

I am a Smoky Mountain Girl, born and bred on 'Toot Holler' and raised in Bryson City, NC, and other NC places and with dearly loved stomping grounds in Tennessee, South Carolina, and Georgia as well as living in Florida for a while. I love the mountains, they are always whispering my name. I am primary of Dutch heritage from the Netherlands (paternal) (De Hart), and English heritage from England Royalty such as Ladies, Lords, Knights, Etc, (maternal) (Taylor & Pack) with a little Scottish (Love) thrown in, among others, such as Queen, Parrish, Mc Han, and others.

Many of my Dutch ancestry, and some of my English Royalty ancestry immigrated to the USA as founding pioneers across the USA, building homes, villages, cities, huge farms, and Estates, including churches, and establising the foundations, record keeping, services, local governments, then state and federal governments. On the maternal side of the family, Taylors entered positions in various federal offices, and two were President of the USA.

I have been fortunate enough to have an old fashioned life where food was grown, fruit picked from trees and vines, canned and frozen, and clothes use to be made from flowered flour sacks when I was little by my maternal grandmother. Later, we would buy some material, I would show her a dress, and she would make it for me. Quilts were made, even petticoats, knited socks and more.*
I had a wonderful life before the computer, tablets, smart phones and smart TVs and technology age ever existed, and I still do. Neighbors loved and looked after one another and kin folks shared their love. The Bible was and is held dear in our hearts and life.
Our life was busy but at a much slower pace then today.

The days of old are gone, and may never be seen again, but today, I live in my Garden of the Lord. God saved the best for last for me,being married to my soul mate, best friend, and lover. I am truly loved, thus blest.

Members of my direct line were pioneers and I love getting to know the ones that went before me... and struggled so that I was born and a life to live.

My 105 year old living paternal Auntie has always been the family historian during her life time, and remained so until her death in 2022; also my great, great grandfather, Andrew Jackson De Hart before her. I am now the family historian in a more modern way today, aided and inspired by my Aunt as I was also inspired by others before her, as well as, some of those on my maternal side of the family that we inknew many long gone but not forgotten in our hearts, such as my great Queen (paternal) grandmother; and my maternal 100 year young grandmother; and the list goes on.

Many years ago when I begin recording, I was determined to tell the truth in the presentation of the facts, family knowledge, and documentation regardless. This is not always acceptable by others for various reasons.

Researching from the present to the 1500's, my direct paternal line of De Hart, Queen, Love, Parrish; direct maternal English line Taylor, Pack; and other Descendants lines of Jones, Camby, Byrd, Myers, Mc Han and others that are my kinfolks. Mostly from North Carolina, Kentucky, Virgina, New York, Tenneessee, The Netherlands, England, etc.

My American, Dutch, English Genealogy on Ancestry is close to being finished in a direct line layout for my tree, and yet, a work still very much in progress in order to include everyone... I have just started to work on this, my FAG account. If I can help anyone with information or documents or a photo, or a little research, I will be more then happy to assist if at all possible. I believe in documentation and documenting sources.
