Cemetery for Simmons and Cole families
Sorry, I'm still hoping someone like yourself has the information.

RE: James Alcee
There are a lot more graves at Beulah Cemetery than the two listed on Find a Grave. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be anyone actively working for Find a Grave in the Assumption parish area. I would say go there yourself if you can.

I live in Texas and get to Lousiana every now and then to visit family. I went all around Assumption Parish locating and taking overall pictures of cemeteries but I didn't have time to take many individual tombstone photos.

Baker Family
Sat 4/8/2017 6:50 PM We went through everything we had at the Society but had no luck connecting Isaac and Thaddeus. We did have Isaac in our files and had 6 of his children and their spouses (if they married). Found the family plot at Old Mayfield Creek Baptist Church Cemetery as well. Judge Isaac Harvey Baker,Thaddeus’”supposed”
brother has a write up in the biographies and it mentions he is one of eight but Permelia/ Pamelia was the only living sibling at that time. I did notice that Owen County listed several Bible records for the Baker family. Have you looked at those they have available to see is Thaddeus might be listed. Just a thought…am sure you have exhausted about every avenue.

Even Carlisle County newspapers were scarce for the period of Pamelia death in 1915 and those filmstrips we had available started in 1939. I perused the La Center paper but it did not reprt that much of Carlisle’s news during that period so had no luck there. Looks like we pretty much dead ended for now, but we will keep you inquiry on record in case something else shows up.

Patsy Mitchel and children
Mary-

I looked at info about Patsy and her children on FamilySearch (I haven't looked at Ancestry) and it is quite a bit different from what you put in you message to me. FamSearch does show that Patsy and Temperance were sisters, but that Patsy was born in New Hampshire in 1782 and died in 1863 in Ohio. Her FamSearch record also lists 9 children for her and Hartwell: Amy b. 1809, Josiah 1810, Susan 1811, Nancy 1812, John 1813, Sophronia 1815, Mary 1817, Suzannah 1824, James 1825. Because Hartwell is not a grandfather of mine, I have not delved into validity of this info.

To add more confusion, FamSearch shows Hartwell's death as 1850 in Thomas Co., and that, alternatively, this Patsy might have married not Hartwell, but a William Hazeltine (b. 1780), and that they had 2 sons born in 1810 and 1813.

As to the Hartwell discrepancies, there might two related Hartwell Mitchells whose info has been co-mingled, and the same for Patsy. Hartwell's FamSearch record shows no second marriage to Mary Gilford; doesn't mean that he didn't marry her, just that whoever entered his record had no knowledge of it--or that Mary might have married a different Hartwell.

This probably confuses more than it helps, but you might be able to figure out something useful from it.

Good luck-

David

RE: Cagle Information
I am sending you additional information on Charles B. Charley Cagle in an email.
It has quite a bit of family history and very well documented

RE: Mitchells
Mary--

I haven't done any research into Hartwell or his family. If you go to

https://familysearch.org/tree/#view=ancestor&person=L6KV-RT9&parents=KG3S-HGY_KFL4-ZN6

you'll see that there may have been quite a few more children than you mentioned, and that you may have better info on his death, as well as the existence of a second wife. Those who have established his family info on FamilySearch (above) would appreciate your updating his family records (if you have a FamSesrch account). There's not much there at all about his children, but you might find something that'll help.

Good luck-

David
