I am looking for the Barnes (Paternal) family of Poteau and Cameron Oklahoma. Former Mayor Don Barnes of Poteau Oklahoma is one of my cousins. I am also looking for the Johnson/crooks/McRay/Davis/Tucker (Maternal) family in Poteau Oklahoma. I am of Cherokee descent and I was told My Great-Great-Great Grandmother lived on a reservation in Oklahoma (Maternal). My Grandmother was Lucretia Latta and my Great grandmother was Vesta Pearl Crook McRay Davis Wilson Young and my great GrandMother was Violet Tucker.
It is very important that I find my family and have connections to them. I was taken away from my Maternal family when I was 10 and didn't see any of them until I was grown and have since moved to be near them. I love my Mama Lou so much and missed her dearly. I did get the chance to see her before she died. I used to go to my Great Grandmother's (Vesta's) house when I was young, I have such fond and Loving memories of her. Any help would be appreciated. I need to feel that connection of family.
Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. I am not very well versed in the Ancestral search for my family, so I really do need the help...LOL I am available to look up, take photos and do headstone rubbings of your family's graves in my town (Siloam Springs Arkansas) and surrounding areas., I also live on the Arkansas/Oklahoma border.
