The Chariton County Historical Society is located in Salisbury, Chariton, Missouri. It was established in 1956 for the purpose of preserving Chariton County history through the collection and preservation of documents, artifacts, photographs, family histories, etc. The Jordan R Bentley genealogy library contains obituaries, funeral home records, cemetery transcriptions and photographs, family histories, marriage records, county probate records, 110 years of microfilmed county newspapers, and more. Researchers are welcome or research requests are fulfilled by experienced volunteers.
