Find a Grave ID

Bio

I started doing family research after talking with my Grandfather in the early 1990s. He had put together records of his and Grandma’s families going back several generations. I was fortunate to get copies of it from him before he passed as little while later. So began my discovery of amateur genealogy and being one who loves solving puzzles and mysteries I got hooked. However, over the years my efforts go in phases where I work a lot on it then present life requirements pull me away for a while. I recently took up the cause again and that’s when I discovered Find A Grave, and so here I am.

I live in the NE Central Florida area and have been here for a long time. So I know the area quite well, although it is growing and changing fast. I’m happy to get photos within Seminole Co., FL and near areas of adjacent counties. I will check photo requests periodically.

I will readily transfer memorials upon request as long as they are not in my family lines. Any memorials I create are for the benefit of the community and the deceased loved one’s family members; I sincerely hope family members find them and request a transfer so they can continue to add to the community. If a request is for someone in my family line and is much more closely related, then I will certainly consider the transfer. In short, I have no desire to collect a long list of managed memorials of people unrelated to me or my wife or even very distant cousins.

My family lines primarily come out of Virginia and North Carolina pre-Revolutionary War time-frame, then into Kentucky, and later either stayed in KY or spread out from there. Partial Surname list: Daniels, Garrett, Gentry, Kidd, Kidwell, Marcum, Taylor, Thomas, Shelton. On my wife’s side I’m researching Hale, Sullivan, Guerrero at this time.

Regarding photos I post: All photos of people, grave markers, etc. posted by me are Copyright and "as-is". The grave marker photos may be used for non-commercial purposes only. Photos of people, etc. do require my written permission to use along with visible credit to the source. If you are a direct family member, then just contact me and we will work something out.
