Bio

Every photo I have posted here I want used for any positive purpose you or others have. I do not need to be cited, unless it serves your purposes.

I want to thank all of the wonderful people that contribute so much to Find A Grave. Some of the people listed in my "Friends" are people that I expect have Graves for my open personal research projects (and those that might visit my page). Please take no offense if you're in or not. I'm glad to add your name, & will remove if you want.

If there is someone you want to honor with your maintenance, please ask. Please do so with best intent for the deceased & their family, not yourself. Just be honest of why. Most of the memorials I create are not close relations before, but they become my silent beloved family & friends. I want to honor both them & all they touched. I am not seeking control, my place is to connect the living with each other and those that rest in peace. I understand some seek control for personal ease in both communities & families, but I don't seek to make it easy myself.

Please forgive my poor photos. I will gladly remove upon request, even if a better photo has not been taken yet. I understand what it is to have lost family members, and what it means to discover unknown family has unearthed our ancestor's stone. I appreciate those (sometimes literal) tenacious diggers, but that is not me either. I don't seek to stage the photos I take, but rather show the beloved is home. If someone wants to stage, I am confident I will appreciate their result more than my own.

My household's roots are all 1800's Wisconsinites, of assorted regions & origins. If you are curious about shared ancestors, you may want to view my Virtual Cemetery named "Direct" or some of my other Virtual Cemeteries.

Update 2021: Obituaries are by default copyrighted for many decades, and can be back to the 1920's. "Everyone ignores copyright" or "I didn't realize" isn't an excuse to ignore others' rights. You must tell me that you have permission from the copyright owner if you want the obituary re-published on a FindAGrave page I maintain. Your name will be cited as the provider of the copyright intellectual property material.
