Bio

I have been a genealogist and have studied the histories of families, genealogical records and the principles of sound genealogical research for over 40 years. I am also a writer of historical non-fiction articles and books. I paint landscapes, still life and peacocks for relaxation.
I am married to Tom Harmon and we have one daughter, Tina Harmon Havard, and son-in-law Robert Havard, a grandson Trey Havard, his wife Kayla, and two great-grandchildren, Madison and Luke Havard. We live in Zachary, Louisiana now, but I was born and raised in Sikeston, Missouri.
Zachary United Methodist Church is my chosen church where I am the Archivist and Church Historian. I give most of my retired time to my church and non-profit art organizations. I do take genealogy assignments for hire today but on a limited basis.

I have made the following contributions to the genealogy community:
• Published Moments In Time, a history of the Zachary United Methodist Church, and family histories of ten of its members who were descendants of its founders. 2016 ISBN 978-0-692-63284-0
• Wrote the history section of History & Families of Scott County, Missouri, and chaired the publication with the Scott County Historical & Genealogy Society publication. 2003 ISBN 1563119196
• Published several articles on Gen. N. W. Watkins-A Pioneer Lawyer and Politician in regional newspapers of Southeast Missouri. (2003 – 2006)
• Served on Missouri State Genealogy Association Board of Directors from 2002 to 2008.
• Published over 37 newspaper articles on Cemeteries in Scott County, Missouri, and the people buried within those cemeteries. (1998 – 2003)
• I contributed numerous lists, indexes, and photos to the MOGenWeb Project
• Currently a contributing member of Find-A-Grave in East Baton Rouge Parish and East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana.
