I became a Find A Grave member in March 2016.

Although I had known of the site for several years as the result of genealogical research, I was not aware how the site worked.

What interested me the most - after having downloaded the iOS app - were photo requests. I thought this would be a great way to combine two hobbies, photography and exploring cemeteries.

To be honest, photography is more my wife's hobby. I am usually along to carry the camera bag and hand her whatever lens she asks for.

My hope in having joining the Find A Grave community is that I can do something to honour and thank the many, sometimes anonymous volunteers who have unknowingly provided me with so much genealogical information.

I have two main goals. Firstly, I intend to fulfill as many photo requests as possible from cemeteries in my area. Secondly, I hope to photograph and geo tag small cemeteries in their entirety.

When transcribing photos I strive to include as much information as possible. I search for obituaries and any other relevant data.

I will gladly accept respectful suggestions and will transfer ownership of any memorial excluding those of relatives mine or my wife.
