I was raised going to church and visiting cemeteries of our departed family EVERY SUNDAY (disliked it as a child), but as an adult and never even meeting either of my maternal nor paternal grandfathers, and leaving my birth city at an early age, I now miss KNOWING who my family roots are and where we came from. Last Christmas I gifted my folks DNA on Ancestry and have been engaged ever since! I like to take various pictures around the grave since this helps generations know whom was buried nearby- grave sites are never alone as some NEVER knew anything about their family let alone who is buried next to them, so I go the extra mile and show pictures around the grave(s) too. You never know who is lying next to them and it is VERY helpful to uncover the unknown family members. I've tried finding tombs and find it easier to have landmarks as many cemeteries do not come with a map. Give and Give Back. If your departed is a veteran, I do pay homage to the area of the cemetery that pays tribute to the Fallen Soldiers or go on their website to find exact locations if buried at a military cemetery - most are very organized and easier to find. So drop me a line - always happy to help connect families. - West coast of FLBeth
