I was blessed with the parents, Elmay Josephine Price of Pennsylvania and Thomas Spearman Coats of Louisiana, career Navy man. I became actively interested in my family history in 1997 and had a great Aunt Janestine, who sent my mother our family history on our father's family when I was a teenager. Janice Woods Windle's movie "True Women" began my active quest on our family and we share the family history portrayed in her movie and book. I find our ancestors fascinating and believe we should preserve their memories throughout the ages and pass them down to our children and their children. Label everything and stress the preservation to our children and if they are not interested, that it is important to donate it those who will, whether it be family or Genealogical Libraries and/or DAR. I have been blessed with family heirlooms and will insure they are preserved as well as documenting the family stories we grew up with.
