Bio

I was born in New Harmony, Walton County, Florida 10 January 1943. Attended Paxton High School and graduated in 1961. From 1963 to 1967 I served in the U. S. Air Force. Following my discharge I earned a Bachelor's degree in accounting from UWF and after a 20 year career in that field and 10 years as a chief financial officer, I retired in 2010. I am a genealogist, historical researcher, writer and artist and editor of the Walton County Heritage Association "Walton History & Relations" Newsletter. As a genealogist I have researched my family for many years, many of whom are buried in Walton County cemeteries. Often times when I visit the find a grave website, I find missing or incorrect information. I became a Find a Grave contributor so that I can add missing information and correct that I know to be incorrect. For memorials of my close relatives created by others, I may request transfer of management but do not insist on it if a valid reason for declining the transfer is given. In those instances when a transfer is declined, or requests to correct erroneous information are ignored, I reserve the right to create an alternative memorial containing verifiably correct information and giving reasons for its creation. After all this is not contest to see who can create the greatest number of memorials, but about creating memorials that contain valid information.
