Bio

I am a second generation American on my mother's side. My grandparents emigrated from Croatia and, no surprise, most of my family worked in the mines, coal and copper, in Iowa, Missouri, Arizona and Montana. So many immigrant records were lost, misspelled or misplaced and working to find or correct graves and reconnect family members feels like being able to give them back their names and bringing them home, especially the women whose maiden names are often unknown on graves. My father was orphaned as a young man in Chicago and I knew very little about his family. Wow, has that changed! I am amazed at the family members I have discovered and was able to enter into Findagrave from death records and obituaries and am pleased to be able to do this.
