Bio

I have been interested in genealogy & history for many years - growing up on one of my family's farms that used to be a 5,000 plantation called Leeton. My husband and I brought Leeton back into the family in 2001 after a dream that she was for sale and she was! I always knew I was a Lee descendant from Richard Henry Lee, Signer. But I didn't know I had 6 lines from the progenitors. Nor did I know I was a Fairfax, Washington, and Carter descendant. In 1992 I began my journey as a genealogist in my spare time - the rest as a physician. I drug my husband to graveyards all over Virginia and Maryland doing my research. Also joined quite a few societies - The Society of Lees of Virginia as a board member, The Carter Society, The Washington Society, The Meriwether Society, The Mayflower Society, The Descendants of Charlemagne, The Descendants of the Knights Templar through my descent from William Marshal, Earl of Pembroke, and the DAR through my descent from Cpt. John Moss, builder of Green Spring Plantation in Fairfax Co., VA. I have built several websites until settling on sharing my information on Ancestry.com and now, Find a Grave. I am happy to share information and most of everything I put on Find a Grave can be found on my ancestry pages: Petitt family Tree3.
