Bio

I started genealogy research in 1997 the old-fashioned way, before we had Internet and could only e-mail at very slow dial-up speeds! I was so fortunate to meet other genealogists on my family lines and exchange information with them. Unfortunately, some have passed on, but I run across their work on here sometimes. I run across their photos they passed down and the Bible pages they shared!

They worked hard through libraries and court houses and cemeteries. I owe so much to my elders. I was one of the youngest genealogists working on the top floor of the Dallas Library in 1997 and appreciate the other genealogists who helped me along the way, especially trying to get through the lost documents in Tennessee.

I was also fortunate to still have great aunts and uncles who were born at the turn of the century to steer me in the right directions when I hit snags!

I was fortunate to still have a family reunion going on for 70 years in San Augustine County, Texas, and the wealth of information and photos from the elders helped all of us budding researchers.

I was blessed to have my mom - Nancy Wray Crocker Wojtkiewicz - who remembered every single thing and loved to listen to her own elders talk about growing up. And I listened to my mom talk about herself growing up in Shreveport and DeRidder, Louisiana.

THANK YOU to the genealogists who came before us! THANK YOU to the volunteers who took photos of the graves! You are so appreciated!!!
