My maternal Grandmother started me on my genealogy journey when I was 8 years old. Grandmom said to me "Is very important to be proud of both sides of the house. No matter what you find, how many skeletons, a president, whatever, each and every person was ahead of me and was passing me knowledge I needed to know. " She started me by counting the generations on my fingers.

In doing genealogy, I have learned more history than I ever learned in school. More geography, and heaps more math practice voluntarily than any education teaches. *Miss Simpa, please forgive me for the previous sentence."
