Since my mother passed I find that I am more interested than ever in getting all the history I know recorded accurately - on my parents, grandparents and even great grandparents. So much of our history will be lost if we all don't get it written down for the following generations. This honors our loved ones who have passed as well as it helps deal with the pain of losing them.
