Bio

Retired professor of historical sociology, now spending some time on family history. I have for years scanned or photographed old family photos held by relations, and will be interested in sending some and further information to FindAGrave sites currently up, and also setting up some memorials not yet present.

Unless I expressly caution otherwise, everything I put up in FindAGrave, whether text or photos or anything else, may be downloaded or used for any legitimate educational or genealogical purpose. The cautions will only be given if I don't own the rights, and only have permission to use the item in one venue. Otherwise, go for it, although it would be much appreciated if any credit I suggest next to the photo be used with the picture in its new site, or, if I suggest none, "Photo courtesy of JamesSmithBenton." Note that most of the photos I put up here are also in FamilySearch, often in higher quality due to their more generous allowances for dpi/megs.
