Bio

Tom was educated at SUNY Empire State College graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations. He continued his education at SUNY Buffalo where he received a Master's Degree in Library & Information Science and has completed 12 hours of administrative credit with the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. In addition, he is a graduate of the Simmons School of Mortuary Science and is a licensed Funeral Director in the State of New York.

A member of the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserve, he was recalled to active duty during Operation Desert Storm and was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal and New York State Silver Star for his work at the Dover AFB Port Mortuary. He retired from the Navy in 1995 after 20 years of service.

Tom is currently the Library Director and Professor of Funeral Service History at the Simmons Institute of Funeral Service.
