Mrs. Mary Pankratz, age 82 of 379 S. Ellis Avenue, Peshtigo, Wisconsin, died Sunday at 9:45 pm at the Marinette General Hospital where she had been a patient for a week. She had been ill for about four years.

The former Mary Pogrant was born in Germany October 5, 1884 and came to this country with her parents, settling in the Town of Grover.

On February 22, 1908, she married Frank Pankratz in Menominee, Michigan. He died June 20, 1957. The couple had farmed in Grover until moving to Peshtigo about 25 years ago where they resided in a home on Peck Avenue.

Mrs. Pankratz is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Carl Brown of Peshtigo, WI, with whom she made her home for the last four years and Mrs. Ray DesJarlais of the Town of Grover, WI;
three brothers: Earl Pogrant of Menominee, MI; Frank of Appleton, WI and John of the Town of Grover, WI;
three sisters: Mrs. Amanda [Leonard] Shutes and Mrs. David Francis, both of Detroit, MI and Mrs. Ted Kmiecik of the Town of Grover, WI.
Also surviving are two grandchildren and one great-granchild.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 pm at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gerhardt Kienka of Menominee officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Peshtigo, WI. Friends may call at the Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home from 3 pm Tuesday until 10:30 am Wednesday and thereafter at the church until the hour of services.
