Elizabeth Archer, affectionately known as "Peggy" all of her life, went to sleep in her chair after reading the Sunday paper and awakened to the greatest family reunion imaginable. She lived her life as the kindest, most gentle and most giving, humble person you would ever want to meet and died as she had wished, in her own home and just waiting for the Lord's call to come home.

Peggy was born in Fort Blackmore, Virginia, on September 9, 1925, married Roy Archer on July 25, 1946, and lived most of her life in Kingsport. Peggy loved her life on the farm and lived for her family and took the greatest care of them and worked hard as a "Domestic Goddess" all her married life. She went to her eternal home on Sunday, November 4, 2012. She was loved and will be missed greatly by all who knew her. Peggy was a member of Sullivan Baptist Church, attending faithfully until she became unable to due to health reasons.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert (Sam) and Edgar Needham; brothers,
Clarence and Charles Needham; sister, Betty Davis; son. Jesse, who was killed by enemy fire in Vietnam; and husband of 64 years, Roy Archer (December 5, 2011).

Surviving are her sisters, Frances Dolen and husband, Pat, Nina Grimes and husband, Jim, Brenda Seaver, Barbara Leamon and husband, Louis, brother, Jackie Needham and wife, Joan, nephews, Tony Needham, Jimmy Grimes, Shannon Leamon, Craig Needham, Jonathan Needham and Ernest Harrison, nieces, Gwen Simmons, Robin Riebling, Karen Longworth, Valorie Pierce, Stephanie Trent, Patsy Wilson, and Phyllis Harrison.

Pallbearers will be Tony Needham, Craig Needham, Jonathan Needham, Shannon Leamon and Jimmy Grimes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ovalee Archer, Ernest Harrison, Ralph Littleton and Norman King.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, November 8, 2012, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. Funeral services will follow visitation with Pastor Jeff Strong and Craig Needham officiating. Special music will be provided by Craig Needham.

Graveside services will be on Friday, November 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Lone Star Cemetery.

The family would like especially thank Janice Sutherland and Madeline Depew for giving love and very special care to Peggy after the death of her husband Roy.
