Her mother was Marcianna Malczewska, born about 1842 in Zakrzewo, Gniezno and died December 8, 1884 in Siemianowo, Gneizno.
Valentinus (Walter) and Marcianna married in 1860 in Slawno, Gniezno, Poland.
Mary Nadolinski married Anton Panowicz in 1880 in Komorowo, Gniezno, Poland.

"Mrs. Anton Panowicz died at her home in Elba on Thursday, March 19th, 1925, after being sick for a few days with acute pneumonia.
"Mary Nadolinski was born in Gniezno, Poland on December 16, 1861, where she grew to womanhood. While at home she attended school and assisted her parents with the home work, where she remained until 1880, when she was joined in marriage with Anton Panowicz. The newlyweds made their home near Gniezno during that year, but in 1881 they decided they could do better if they moved to America. Accordingly they came to this country in 1881, stopping in Chicago, Illinois, where they tried city life for a year. Always living on a farm, they did not like city life any too well, so the following year they came West, coming to Howard County and making their home one and a half miles north of Elba, where they purchased a farm. For 17 years they resided on that farm, then they moved to a farm north of St. Paul, where their son, Peter, now resides. Several years in this farm home and they decided they would retire and move to town. They moved to this city where they purchased a home, the one now owned and occupied by Mr. Khyn, and for five years they resided there, living in peace and comfort, but not in contentment, as city life did not appeal to them. The call of the farm was so strong that a few years ago they sold their city home and moved onto the Stanley Panowicz farm, northeast of this city, where they resided for a time, moving to Elba in 1923, where they lived until death claimed her and carried her mortal soul to her home above.
"Mrs. Panowicz was not in good health for a number of years, but her condition was not serious until a few days before her death. She was a good wife, a good mother, a good neighbor and a good woman . . . . She liked everybody and everybody liked her and she will be sorely missed . . . .
"Thirteen children were born to this union, seven of whom are now living. They are as follows: Mrs. Clara Laskowski, Omaha; John, residing in the northern part of this county; Mrs. Pauline Dorszynski, Farwell; Frank, of Elba; Peter and Stanley, of St. Paul; and Mrs. Frances Chelinski, of Loup City.
"This fine family of children are the living monument to the honor and integrity of this fine lady, who laid down her life's work in such a manner that it may be said of her: "Good and faithful servant: thou didst your work well." In addition to this fine family of children she leaves her fond and devoted husband and life companion who has spent about 45 years at her side . . . . At the time of her death she was 63 years, 3 months, and 3 days old.
"The funeral was held from the Catholic church in Elba on Monday and interment was made in the St. Joseph's cemetery, nearby, immediately after the conclusion of the church services. All of the children were present for the funeral services and in addition a large number of friends and neighbors were there to pay their last respects to the memory of their departed friend. Rev. Father Jarka had charge of the services.
