Husband of Lula (Watson) Page (1880-1913). James was the son of James Page and Maria (Hardesty) Page. He died in the County Poor Farm in Washington, Buchanan, Missouri of arteriosclerosis. James was the eldest son of Pvt. James Page (1823-1865), who died during the Civil War. His father was a Private in Co. F, 4th Ohio Infantry and died a few months before the end of the war. James Richard Page was married two times. His first wife was Mary Caroline (Driscoll) Page Phillips (1844-1933). He married Mary Caroline Driscoll on February 16, 1869 in Highland County, Ohio. She later married Lee Phillips. James married his second wife, Lula (Watson) Page, in about 1900.

James was the father of at least five children with Mary and one child with Lula. His children with Mary included: John, George, Edward, James and Edith Page. His child with Lula was Dennis Page.
