Norene Gunning, 91, of Farmington died on Monday, December 3, 2012, in Farmington.
She was born July 19, 1921, to Andrew and Roseann Tossett in Forfar, ND.
They moved to Lansford, ND and she was educated there and later married Leslie Gunning. They farmed and reared their family there. Norene contributed to her community and her church, and was a active in the Eastern Star. She also was employed by the local bank.
She later moved to Minot, ND and then to Las Vegas, NV. She also spent time in Denver, CO. In all of her moves she was employed in the banking and hospitality positions.
She retired to Albuquerque, NM and lived there for 25 years. She pursued the many opportunities to learn about the culture of the southwest. She enjoyed several bridge groups, gardening, needlework, golf and traveling. She made several trips abroad and across the US and Canada. She was a loyal fan throughout her life to her New York Yankees. She moved to Farmington in 2003.
She is survived by her son; Thomas(Velda) Gunning, of Indianapolis, IN; her daughter; Susan (William) Sausker, of Farmington: her brother, Andrew (Judith) Tossett, of Minot, ND. She had five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no service per Norene's request.
