Olympic Silver Medalist. He is recognized as a champion ice skater. He was the pairs silver medalist in the 1961 US Nationals, along with his partner and sister Ila Ray Hadley. They died, along with their entire 18-member US figure skating team, in a plane crash headed for the 1961 World Championships in Prague, Czechoslovakia.
