Frances E. Walkush, 90, Hatley died Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Mount View Care Center, Wausau.

She was born on August 31, 1922 in the town of Bevent, the daughter of the late Peter and Joanna (Cychosz) Filtz.

On April 26, 1941, Frances was united in marriage to Edward Walkush, Sr. in Wausau. He survives.

Frances was a loving housewife and mother and loved to cook and bake for family and friends. She was a member of St. Florian Catholic Church, Hatley and the Rosary Society. Frances enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, traveling, spending time with her family and going for car rides with her husband.

Survivors include her husband of over 71 years, Edward Walkush, Sr., Hatley; one son, Edward Walkush, Jr., Hatley; two daughters, Mary Ann (Jerry) Popp, Hatley and Deborah (Brian) Jankowski, Milwaukee; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; five brothers, Joseph (Dolly) Filtz, South Milwaukee, John (Margie) Filtz, Land O' Lakes, Peter (Joyce) Filtz, Rosholt, Raymond Filtz, Bevent and William Filtz, Bevent and one sister, Mary Ann (Bill) Woyjick, Bevent. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by one son, David; daughter-in-law, Mary Walkush, great-granddaughter, Mariah Rickman; six brothers, Leonard Filtz, Theodore Filtz, Albert Filtz, Anthony Filtz, Edwin Filtz and Ronald Filtz and four sisters, Esther Wanta, Mae Stoltz, Polly Wranik and Sylvia Haase.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at St. Florian Catholic Church, Hatley. Fr. Roy Witucki will officiate. Interment will be in the parish cemetery
