Rock Musician. He will be best remembered for employing The Beatles as his backup band during their early years in Germany. Born Anthony Esmond Sheridan McGinnity, into a family whom appreciated the sound of classical music, Tony would also take an interest in the genre. His initial instrument of play was the violin, prior to taking up the guitar and forming his first band The Saints in 1955. After appearing on the BBC, he established himself as a fine guitarist and went onto making a name for himself in Hamburg, Germany as a member of The Beat Brothers. The Beatles were also gaining attention as a feature attraction in Germany. A collaboration with Sheridan and The Beatles took place in 1961 and the result would be the yielding of the songs "My Bonnie" and "The Saint". This session was of historic note for being among the earliest in The Beatles' history and would forever link Sheridan with them. He later fronted The Tony Sheridan Quartet and continued to enjoy a following in Germany over the next few decades.
