Rock Musician. A guitarist, he is best known for his work with the "Allman Brothers Band" from 1979 through 1982. He joined "Dickey Betts & Great Southern" in the late 1970s and moved to the Allman Brothers Band to play and record on their albums 'Enlightened Rogues' (1979), 'Reach for the Sky' (1980) and 'Brothers of the Road' (1981). He then spent much the 1980s playing with the Gregg Allman Band, touring and recording 'I'm No Angel' and 'Just Before the Bullets Fly'. In 1990, Toler went another direction and created the "Toler Brothers Band" with his brother David. He rejoined Betts' Great Southern band in 2002 and in 2009, he teamed up with John Townsend to form the Toler/Townsend Band. In August of 2011, Toler announced he was battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, better known as ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease.
