Mrs Olive Ophelia Hunter, 75, died suddenly Saturday on arrival back home at Brampton [area] after visiting her son, Dan Hunter, of Lyn, having left here Friday. She had been in apparent good health while here, but suffered a coronary on her return home.
She was the widow of Bud Hunter, who predeceased her on Feb 26 1949. He had been employed by the CNR. Mrs Hunter enjoyed traveling around, visiting friends and relatives.
She was born in Yonge Mills on Dec 15 1900, a daughter of the late Daniel Dickey and the former Lillian Edgeley, and had lived in this area for many years.
For the last few years she had been making her home at RR 1
Cheltenham, in the Brampton area.
She is survived by one son, Daniel Hunter of Lyn, two grandsons, Douglas of Brockville and Rodney of Ottawa, and two great grandchildren. She was the last of her family, having been predeceased by one sister. Also surviving is her step father John Edgeley, and one step brother, Larry Edgelely, both of Brockville, and one nephew.
Mrs Hunter was very fond of pet animals and had a number at her home.
Friends will be received at Paul Funeral Home Ltd., 33 James st east, Monday afternoon and evening, with the funeral and committal services conducted there Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock, Rev Harold O'Brien, of St John's United Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Oakland Cemetery.
