LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Charles Gregory Breland Sr., 78, formerly of Huntsville, died Saturday in Lexington, Ky.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by the funeral at Memphis Funeral Home at 5599 Poplar Ave. in Memphis.

A native of Jackson, Miss., Mr. Breland graduated from the University of Alabama. He worked with the World Electrical Administration, the U.S. Navy Department and Corps of Engineers, and was an architectural engineer with NASA from 1962-78. He is a four-year veteran of World War II and was a member of the Huntsville Unitarian Universalist Church.

Survivors include a son, Charles Gregory Breland Jr., of Lexington, Ky., a brother, Hunter M. Breland of Pennington, N.J., two sisters, Jean Campbell of Tuscaloosa and Gloria Hughes of Mobile and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Unitarian church.
