Crimean War Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in Pettigreen, Ireland, he served as a Private in the 2nd Battalion, Prince Consort Rifle Birgade, British Army. On April 22, 1855, a Russian rifle squad was situated among the rocks overhanging the Woronzoff Road, Crimea. Private Bradshaw with another Private on their own attacked and captured the position which was of great importance. For most prestigious gallantry in the face of the enemy, he was promoted Corporal and awarded the Victoria Cross. He died at the age of 58 in St Johns, Limerick Ireland.
