He was born March 28, 1933, in Haskell, Texas, to Willie and Fannie Zahn.
Benny attended Littlefield High School and graduated with the class of 1949. He married Patty Jones on Sept. 10, 1950, in Littlefield.
Benny served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated Zahn's Bookeeping for 45 years. Benny loved working in the garden with Patty and taking trips to Ruidoso, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He had a servant's heart and was involved in many organizations, including Lions Club and Littlefield Band Boosters. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Littlefield.
Waiting for him in Heaven were the love of his life, Patty Zahn, who passed away April 28, 1998; his parents; and two brothers.
He is survived by two sons, Sheldon Zahn and wife Diana of Idalou, and Kendon Zahn and wife Jackie of Littlefield; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dennis Zahn of Lubbock.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug., 27, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Littlefield with Matt Paden officiating. Interment will follow in Littlefield Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
