Icle Faye Severson, age 98 of Austin, Minnesota died Thursday morning, December 24, 2015, at Sacred Heart Care Center in Austin, Minnesota. Icle Faye Greiner was born July 14, 1917, in Floris, Iowa the daughter of Perle and CoraMae (Copeland) Greiner.

She received her education in the Carpenter, Iowa schools. Faye married Carl Zuehl in St. Ansgar, Iowa in 1937. They were blessed with a daughter, Kaye. Carl died in 1939. On March 28, 1942, Faye married Clifford “Don” Severson at the Little Brown Church near Nashua, Iowa. The couple made their home on the Severson family farm until 1953, when they moved to Carpenter, Iowa.

In 1960 they moved to Florida, returning to Austin, Minnesota in 1984. Don died in 2003, and in 2004 Faye moved to St. Mark’s Assisted Living. In May of 2014, Faye moved to Sacred Heart Care Center in Austin. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and a 4-H Leader for many years. She loved flowers, stitching, crocheting and quilting. She was a wonderful dancer, and participated in many dance contests. Faye enjoyed decorating her home, was a very good writer and wrote many stories compiled into a book.

Faye is survived by a daughter, Kaye (Irving) Nagel of Rose Creek; a son, Bruce (Susan) Severson of Mannford, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Louise Kirchgatter of St. Ansgar, Iowa and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Perle and CoraMae Greiner, both husbands and fifteen siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin with Pastor Karen Behling, officiating. Interment will follow the service at Woodbury Cemetery near Lyle, Minnesota. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials can be directed to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Services prearranged and performed by the Worlein Funeral Home.
