James Timothy "Tim" Cole, of Pleasant Valley, entered into Heavenly rest February 6 in Washington, DC.

He was the son of the late Richard S. Cole and Mary L. "Mamie" Hargett Cole.

Mr. Cole graduated from Westminster High School in 1978. He retired from the United States Navy in 2003 (serving over 20 years) as an electronics technician Chief Petty Officer. His last tour of duty was at the Annapolis Naval Base. He served on the USS Enterprise, USS Hunley, USS LaSalle, and the USS Bellknap, and served in Desert Storm. He worked for the Carroll County Times as an independent contractor and newspaper carrier for 10 years.

Tim attended St. Matthews United Church of Christ and was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation; was an avid hunter and fisherman; loved trains; was a Civil War buff, especially Gettysburg; loved boating and the sea; and enjoyed watching his children's sporting events.

He was the beloved husband of Erica D. Weiss Cole and surviving, in addition to her, are children, Joshua E. Cole, Melanie G. Cole, and Colby T. Cole, all of Taneytown; his children's mother, Mary Kathleen "Kathy" Tillman of Taneytown; a sister, Judy A. Basham of Pleasant Valley; an uncle, Truman L. "Bud" Haines of Pleasant Valley; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard S. Cole, Jr.; and an uncle, Raymond E. Cole.

Interment was with Full Military Honors.
