She married William S 'Willie' Watson on Nov 20, 1898 at Jasper, Newton Co, AR.

Together they had 7 children.

Flossie Alberta (my grandma)

Hartsel Clay
Fred
Lonnie Imogene

(The story in the family is that when my grandma Flossie was a young girl her mom's wood cook stove developed a large, unsafe crack in it. When gr grandma asked gr grandpa about getting a new one he told her they didn't have the money. Everyone in the surrounding area knew that he was a moonshiner and gr grandma knew he had the money, he just didn't want to 'turn lose' of enough to buy her a new cook stove. As the story goes, gr grandma Ruby and my grandma Flossie went a couple of 'hollers' over from where gr grandpa had his moonshine still set up and set up a still of her own. She ran off and sold enough 'shine' to buy her self a new stove, then took the still down. One has to wonder if she didn't use it again every now and again)

The picture to the right is one of my favorite pics of gr grandma, in her kitchen making biscuits. I can remember her in that kitchen. Wonder if the wood stove she used when I was a kid was the same one she bought from her 'shine' money. As long as a wood stove would last the chances are pretty good that it was.
