Major League Baseball Player. As a rookie for the St. Louis Cardinals, the 5-foot-11, 170-pound right-hander pitched complete games in both games of a doubleheader on July 10, 1923 against the Boston Braves, winning 11-1 and 6-3. He had a 9-5 record, a 4.27 earned run average for 149 2/3 innings pitched and seven complete games in 10 starts that season. He had made his debut with the Cardinals the year before with no decisions in two games. In 1924, he was 9-11 with a 4.75 ERA for 159 innings and had 13 complete games in 22 starts. He was 2-2 with a 6.13 ERA in 1925 and never again pitched in the big leagues. His career totals were 20-18, 4.76 ERA and 21 complete games in 34 starts.
