Actor. A member of "The Little Rascals," he played 'Cotton' in 5 "Our Gang" motion picture comedy short films from 1932 to 1934. One of 14 children born to a Los Angeles, California minister, Beard appeared as Stymie's younger brother in some of the comedies including "Birthday Blues" (1932), "A Lad An' A Lamp" (1932), "Fish Hooky" (1933), "Forgotten Babies" (1933), and "Hi'-Neighbor!" (1934). Beard was the brother of fellow Our Gang members, Matthew 'Stymie' Beard, Betty Jane Beard, Carlena Beard, and Rene Beard. He was also a veteran of the Korean War, having served as a Specialist First Class in the United States Army.
