Uncle "Jimmy" Allison died Monday morning at the home of his daughter Mrs. Jessie Hull in the southeast part of the city, about 3 o'clock. He has been ill for several weeks and his death has not been unexpected most any time within the past week or so. The direct cause was gravel in the bladder. At a post mortem held that same morning Dr. Crouch removed two very large stones from the bladder that it would seem almost impossible for a human being to have within his body. They were to all appearances just like a sand stone but physicians tell us that they are of a lime formation that if taken in time may be removed and in most instances the life of the patient saved. It is hard to determine thier existence at times and while physicians disagreed in this particular case the family have done all that human hands could possibly do to bring about a recovery of their beloved father. But Uncle Jimmy's race had been run, he had turned the eighty-fourth mile stone of his life of usefulness. He had lived in this county for many, many years and had always been a peaceful, law-abiding, cheerful and charitable man. He has gone to a reward that is justly due one of the Christian fortitude and consistency of James Allison. His life has been one grand series of good deeds and kindly acts and he has left to his posterity a name that is honored among men and beloved by his children.
There have been men who have lived among us and attained greater things in life in the way of political honor or financial succes, but none ever lived with us who in departing have left behind a fairer name for honesty, uprightness and integrity then Uncle Jimmie Allison. None of us yet among the living could wish for better than this. He may have, and possibly did, suffer disappointments, trials and tribulations just like the rest of human kind, but if he did the outside world was not bothered by it. He withstood those trials alone, and with his god, at the same time adding jewels to a crown that his own concsience told him was in waiting for men who fight the battles of life as he fought them.
The funeral services were conducted from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hull, Tuesday forenoon, the Rev. J. G. Smiley officiating, after which interment was made in the Stafford Cemetery beside the remains of his wife. The funeral was largely attended by relatives and friends.
