Ethel Louise Arrasmith, 63, of Detroit, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006, in East Texas Medical Center of Tyler where she was surrounded by her family.

In accordance to her wishes, immediate burial rites were held at 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, in Bluff Cemetery, Detroit. Arrangements were under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.

She was born on July 18, 1943, in the Negley Community, the daughter of Tom and Geraldine Wilkerson Shelby. On Nov. 8, 1958, she married Roy Arrasmith. Together with her husband, they owned and operated R&E Kennels and Arrasmith Plumbing in Detroit. She was a devoted wife, mother, and loving grandmother and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Tommie Dean, Judy, and Deon and one brother, Bobby.

Survivors include her husband, Roy of Detroit; her children Roy Arrasmith II and wife, Stella, of Pattonville, Marion Curtis Arrasmith and wife, Rhonda, of Detroit, Amy Buck and husband, Dewayne, of Paris and Misty Looney and husband, Jay, of Detroit; 11 grandchildren, Roy, Cassie, Aron, Wendie, Lindsey, Justin, Zachary, Jessica, Noah, Jacie, and Macie; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Malachi, Mackenzie, and Lane; one sister, Diane Merritt of Blossom; two brothers, Sam Shelby and Jackie Shelby, both of Blossom.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were her grandsons, and Jacky and Billy Robertson.
