SAVOIE, Fidele Joseph
Fidele Joseph Savoie, 78, of Broad Brook, formerly of Manchester, died Thursday, (June 1, 2006) at Hartford Hospital. He was born in New Brunswick, Canada to the late William and Azelie (Poirier) Savoie. Educated in Canada, he worked on his family's prosperous farm. At the age of 30 he moved to Connecticut where he learned the skills to become a successful custom craftsman. Fidele's wit and good-nature will be missed by his family and many friends. Fidele was predeceased by his beloved wife of 49 years, Huberte (Bastarache) Savoie. He leaves a son, Dennis Savoie and his wife, Sally of Tacoma, WA.; three daughters, Anne-Marie Ferguson and her husband, David of Windsor, Suzan Swist and her husband, Jeffrey of Broad Brook, Amy Luby and her husband, Michael of Manchester; four brothers, Desire, Odilon, Adelard and Eugene Savoie; four sisters, Sr. Huberte and Sr.Yolande Savoie, Claudia Flett and Georgina Moore; six grandchildren, David Ferguson Jr., William and Nicholas Savoie, Jenna Swist and Noah and Jack Luby. Besides his wife, three brothers, Aldeo, Andre and Raymond Savoie and a sister, Aline Caissie, predecease him. A procession will form on Tuesday, June 6, at 9 a.m. at the Coventry Funeral Home, 2665 Boston Turnpike, Coventry and travel to St. Bridget's Church in Manchester where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Calling hours will be on Monday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Ste. Marie, New Brunswick, Canada. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., Wallingford, CT. 06492.
